Hiking, biking and horseback riding are major draws at Panther Creek State Park, whose 1,435 acres offer miles of hiking and horse trails. Fishing at the Cherokee Reservoir is also popular, where rock fishing and boat fishing yield catches of bass, crappie, bluegill, catfish and bream, weighing up to 30 pounds. The park also has campsites, a swimming pool open during select summer days, two tennis courts and areas for other organized sports. It is located on the southern shore of the reservoir, about six miles west of Morristown.
